Aberdeen's First Primary will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.  To win in the First Primary, a candidate must receive a MAJORITY of the votes. If no candidate receives a majority, the top two candidates in a particular race will meet in the Second Primary (run-off) two weeks later, on April 19, 2016.

If you are not registered to vote, you must do so
at least 30 days before the First Primary in order to participate in that election. Likewise, in order to vote in the Second Primary (run-off), you must register at least 30 days before it takes place. You may register in either the Aberdeen City Clerk's office or the Monroe County Circuit Clerk's office; by registering in either location, you will be able to take part in both City of Aberdeen and Monroe County elections.
